Spawnism
July 25, 2025
A great disturbing evil is being born on an online video game. It preys on the young, the lonely, and the vulnerable. It is nothing short of an undead miscarriage. Though it doesn’t even deserve the privilege of being named, it has labeled itself “Spawnism”. Its members ask vulnerable youth to do horrible things in the name of resurrection, what they falsely term a second life. All that it requires its members to do is detestable and repugnant: self-harm, suicide, and everything that a man of great heart must despise and fight against.
Do not be deceived by Spawnism. You may have been offered a sense of belonging, purpose, or a better life. Cults often thrive by creating a powerful sense of community and making you feel understood. Its rituals are nothing but a scam to pleasure those that request them. Yes, it may feel comfortable. Yes, the world offers you comfort, but you were not made for comfort, you were made for greatness. Everyone can be content, and it is only through the Lord Jesus Christ that we become content, that we find repose. Think:
-
Who is the author of life and death? The Lord has appointed the day of our birth and the day of our death (Job 14:5). Can the “prophets” of Spawnism claim this power? They cannot. Their authority is a hollow imitation of the divine sovereignty of God.
-
What are their fruits? Have you tested your “prophet”? Have you asked him to do great deeds and acts in the supernatural and has he provided? For it is written: “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.”
-
What Spawnism produced? What about their so-called prophets? Look at their moral character, their love for others, their humility, their integrity, and how they handle money and power. Do their lives reflect the character of Christ and the fruit of the Spirit? Matthew says in his gospel this much: “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits.” Look at the fruit of Spawnism. Does it produce love, joy, peace, and self-control? Or does it produce harm, deception, fear, and death? The evidence is clear.
For those who contribute to Spawnism, you’re in peril. For those who only have a passive interest in it, leave while you can, for it is written: “For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple.”. You are being deceived by charming people that want to abuse you. For those who actively contribute and spread it, surely knowing better but choosing not to, know of the evil of your deed: “But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea.”.
For those who are only interested in Spawnism, and have maybe landed here while researching them, leave! False prophets bring about destruction, of not only you but those around you, and you do not want to be a source of destruction for those around you. You will only find death in what they promise. You may be called to “love” and have affinity for others, but these cannot exist while your soul is yoked. We read that “there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction.” You are being used by people who do not care for your soul.
However, there is good news. It isn’t too late to turn back and abandon all of this. No matter how far you have gone down this path, you can turn back. The true resurrection and new life you seek are not found in self-destruction, but in repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. He does not demand your harm; he took all the harm upon Himself so that you could be healed and made whole.
You may not know of Christ, but he will accept you. He loves you and wants you to go home. You are stranded and you have to return to the flock. It is written that “The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.”, therefore do not despair. The Lord Jesus Christ opens up to all whom ask, as it is written “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.”.
Turn away from the empty promises of Spawnism and turn toward the one who offers true, abundant, and eternal life.
